Yes, I went ahead and purchsed JohnStuff.net. However, it will be a few
days (possibly the first of next week) before I get it online and ready to go. I will post a notice here
when it is ready to be viewed. I am excited to have a site dedicated to
this blog. I am looking forward to doing some fun things with it.

I already have a small list of things I want to talk about when I get it going.

I'm thinking quite strongly about getting a domain for JohnStuff. It
would probably have to be a .net or .org address since someone already
has the .com under JohnStuff.
I am thinking that this would give me more flexibility as to content
and the ability to tweak my blog more the way I want. Perhaps I will
get this done during the holidays.
I will post a notice here if and when it happens.

I took an item back to Wal-Mart the other evening. They gave me a
shopping card for the value of the purchase. I was going to shop there
anyway so no problem. But I really would have preferred the
cash. What if I had wanted to take my money and shop at K-Mart
instead?

Just say no to gift cards!

Cool service. I would add a permanent link in my sidebar, but I only use the free version of Xanga and it won't allow me to edit the template. So, here is a link which should work:

I dream every night. And I remember most. And most of my dreams take place in places I have never been and have people I do not know. Some very metaphysical in nature. Perhaps details of some in a future post.

Recently I have started dreaming about dead relatives. Never dreamed about them when they were alive.

No real point to this post, just something that crossed my mind.

Wednesday, December 01, 2004

Discover Card Ploy

I think it's terrible - the new promotion from Discover card. They are going to pay some lucky cardholder's 2004 charges. The ad gives you the impression that the more you spend - the better your chances of winning. So, they are encouraging all their customers to rack up the charges in the hopes of getting their account paid off. What are the odds? And think of all the extra charges on millions of accounts. It's a win-win for Discover.
JohnStuff motto - credit cards = financial bondage.

Traffic Reports

The traffic reports you see on local news in the mornings make sense to people heading out the door for the morning commute. But the traffic reports on the evening news?!? Since most work places don't have TV, the majority of people checking the traffic in the evening are already home!

Monday, November 29, 2004

Capitol One

I would really like to see what would happen if the Viking horde wasn't stopped by someone using their Capitol One credit card.
